Aurie creates her finely executed works using ink and water colors. With a sensitivity all her own she depicts men, women, animals and objects inspired by her fascination with the rock band Kiss and the television show The Adams Family. Her unique imagery scrutinizes sex, religion, food, erotic fetishisms, and the male /female relationship.
Realized in precise outlines and colored with delicate, almost imperceptible brushstrokes, Aurie’s dream-like scenes are populated with silent harlequinesque faces, women in Kiss regalia, a Clock-faced man, and an array of everyday objects participating in surrealistic situations.
