CG Gathered Polo Dress in Marion Print

Our relaxed fitting Gathered Polo Dress is cut in silk twill and has a beautiful ease when worn. It has a men’s shirt inspired collar with v-neck placket opening. Slightly dropped, relaxed fitting shoulder. Back gathering detail at yoke for volume and drawcord pull at back waist with self ties that can be cinched for shape. Side seam pockets. Shirt cuff detail at sleeve opening with button closure. Falls to mid-calf.

The print on this skirt is inspired by the artwork of Creative Growth artist Marion Bolton.  Marion works from reference, often choosing books of nature photography as a point of departure. He reduces his subject matter to fields of bright color with expressive linear details, beginning in pencil and filling in with thick layers of pastel. While his depictions of animals and flowers are detailed and precise, his renderings of people exaggerate limbs or facial features. Sometimes bordering on the abstract, he captures the figure’s essence while simplifying the form and turning up the gesture.
